Freshly mown striped lawn beside a curved brick path - lawn mowing by Prime Outdoor Services

Year-Round Lawn Care Programme

A treatment programme through the seasons to feed, weed and renovate your lawn, not just mow it.

How it works

  1. 1

    We assess your lawn.

We look at grass cover, weeds, moss, thatch and soil condition, as well as shade and wear. Tell us how you use the garden so the proposed work fits your lawn rather than an assumed routine.

  2. 2

You choose a plan and pay monthly or yearly.

Choose Essential, Complete or Premium after discussing what the assessment shows. Your quote is based on lawn size and the agreed work; we explain payment and cancellation terms before you sign up.

  3. 3

We visit through the year at the right time for each treatment.

The schedule follows seasonal needs and suitable ground conditions. We explain what happens at each stage and any watering, mowing or access advice relevant to the work.

Treatment through the seasons

These are the seasonal tasks that can form a lawn-care schedule, not a promise that every treatment is included in every plan. Essential includes four seasonal treatment visits; the precise timing and combination are agreed following assessment. Scarifying and aeration are included in Complete, with overseeding and a mid-season health check in Premium. Discuss winter conditioning and any other work needed for your lawn as part of your quote.

  1. Early spring

    Feed and moss control

As grass begins growing again, suitable feeding supports recovery from winter. Moss control addresses growth that has developed in damp or shaded areas, while the lawn assessment helps identify drainage or shade problems that treatments alone cannot solve.

  2. Late spring

    Feed and weed

Grass and many lawn weeds are actively growing as temperatures rise. Feeding supports the grass and appropriately timed weed treatment targets unwanted growth, with the approach adjusted to the condition of your lawn and the product instructions.

  3. Summer

Summer feed, weed control and a health check

Heat, dry spells and regular use can stress grass during summer. A suitable feed and condition check help guide the next step; weed control is planned around the weather rather than applied simply because a date is in the diary.

  4. Autumn

Scarify, aerate, overseed and autumn feed

Soil can still be warm while rainfall provides moisture for recovery and seed establishment. Removing thatch, relieving compaction and filling thin patches helps repair summer wear, while an autumn feed supports the lawn as growth slows.

  5. Winter

Winter feed or conditioning and a lawn health check

Slower growth makes winter a useful time to review wear, standing water and overall condition. Suitable conditioning or winter feed is considered according to the lawn's needs; frozen or waterlogged ground is not a reason to force a treatment.

Why a programme beats one-off treatments

Consistent timing

Treatments are more useful when matched to grass growth and suitable soil conditions. A programme connects each task with the next, rather than treating feed, moss control and renovation as unrelated jobs.

A thicker lawn

Healthy grass and well-established new seed leave less space for weeds and moss. Shade, drainage and mowing habits still matter, so the aim is to support the lawn while recognising the causes behind recurring problems.

Problems spotted early

Reviewing condition during the year can reveal compaction, thinning or unwanted growth before it becomes widespread. That gives you a chance to discuss a suitable adjustment instead of waiting for the lawn to deteriorate further.

Less to remember

You do not need to keep track of which treatment belongs in which season. We discuss the schedule and explain the simple care you may need to carry out between visits, such as suitable mowing and watering after seed work.

Read our lawn care calendar for the seasonal background, or compare scarifying and aerating. For individual treatments, reseeding or turfing, see our existing lawn care service.

Join the programme

Tell us about your lawn and the plan you have in mind. If you are unsure, choose Not sure and describe what you would like to improve. Your plan choice and payment preference are included with your enquiry.

Useful details include approximate lawn size, whether moss or weeds are the main concern, shaded areas and patches worn by everyday use. You do not need to diagnose the problem yourself: the assessment is the starting point.

We are based in Winnersh and serve Wokingham, Earley, Arborfield, Spencers Wood, Sindlesham, Farley Hill and Bracknell, as well as Winnersh. The programme concerns lawn treatments; routine grass cutting and wider garden tasks can be discussed separately.

We'll only use your details to reply to this enquiry.

Common questions

Can I cancel?
We'll explain the terms when you sign up, including cancellation and how your chosen payment arrangement works. Ask us about anything you are unsure of before agreeing to a plan.
Do I still need my grass cut?
Yes. Treatments look after the condition of the lawn; mowing keeps its growth manageable. Continue cutting at a suitable height for the season. Optional regular mowing can be added to Premium, or you can discuss our existing garden maintenance service.
What if it rains on a visit day?
It depends on the treatment and ground conditions. Some tasks suit moist soil, while others need a dry spell or should not be carried out on saturated ground. We will assess the conditions and discuss a suitable time if the planned work needs to move.
Is it safe for children and pets?
Access advice depends on the treatment and product used. We will explain any precautions and when children and pets can return to the lawn, following the product instructions. Tell us about pets and how your family uses the garden before treatment.
How soon will I see a difference?
That depends on the starting condition, weather, soil and treatment. Feeding, weed control and seed establishment work at different rates, and renovation can initially leave a lawn looking thinner. We will explain what is realistic for your lawn rather than promise a fixed result or timescale.
